Plain-language summary: this site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure how many people read which pages. That's it. We don't run advertising, we don't sell anything, we don't collect names or emails through this site, and we don't share data with third parties beyond what GA4 itself does on Google's infrastructure.

What we collect

When you load any page on this site, Google Analytics 4 records:

  • The page URL you visited.
  • Your browser's User-Agent string (e.g., "Mozilla/5.0 … Chrome/127").
  • Your rough geographic region (country + region, not city or street) derived from your IP address.
  • A randomly generated Client ID cookie (_ga) used to count unique visitors.

We see aggregate counts (e.g., "47 people read the peach-salsa post this week"). We do not see who you are.

What we don't collect

  • Your name, email, address, or any contact information — there is no signup form, account creation, or checkout on this site.
  • Comments — the comment system is not yet active on the new build.
  • AdSense or any advertising tracking — advertising is disabled by default and not yet enabled on this site.

Cookies set by this site

We do not set any first-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Embedded content

Some blog posts include images hosted on third-party sites (e.g., Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest). Loading those pages may cause those third parties to set their own cookies or receive your IP address. This site does not control those third-party cookies; refer to each provider's privacy policy directly.

Your choices

You can block or clear the _ga cookie via your browser settings. Most modern browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" header that we honor if present (GA4 respects DNT).

You can browse this site with JavaScript disabled; GA4 will simply record fewer details about your visit.
